Got To Be A College Dropout

Do you spend most of your time these days getting tensed with your impending future?....

Do you believe that your life could have oriented entirely different if only you knew the meaning of the word “engineering” before getting to do it?....

When you are alone, and no one’s around(well, obviously), do you sometimes sincerely realise that deep inside there’s this something which tells you that you could have been a better writer, or a lawyer, or a bar tender, or a restaurant owner, or a journalist( anything but engineer)?....

And when you are accompanied (ofcourse with your friends, who else would listen) you frequently whine about these same things atleast biweekly?....

One final and concluding enquiry….Do you often get frustrated enough and think about dropping out of college?................... Then my friend you have just come at par with my state of mind, which I have been maintaining at the least for a month, since my semester examinations resumed.
                                             Well, let me tell you one thing at this level that this is not the time to get your morale down, as this is the time when you can foresee yourself as the CEO of any weird named company you might have thought to open in your days of frustration. Remember “Mark Zuckerberg” dropped out of Harvard then only gave us you know what. Remember “Steve Jobs” left college and started you know what. “Bill Gates” and Microsoft, “Larry Ellison” and Oracle to name a few. Got my point.
                                           So, after much circumlocution let me hit the target. Recently, while returning to home from college, my friend and I talked about a plan to open a class restaurant and a movie theatre afterwards in Rawatbhata. Keeping in mind the rising demands of our youth, it would be the best start-up to start with. I hereby tempt whoever is interested to join with us, and get ready to change the world.

BUT…..BUT…..BUT…..BUT….the code consists of these statements too

if(“drop out of college”)
{“can join the group and have an enticing future”}
else
{“continue with your rotten life”}

Cuz you now, you got to be a college dropout  to do big things……Well, let me know if you're with me.

NEWSPAPER TIMES

It’s just any other day. You and your friends out of zeal to excel in management entrance exams like CAT, MAT or other “sarkari naukri” competitive exams like IAS,IES are engrossed in the day’s newspaper. Although some of you might be getting delighted by the awesome photographs displayed in the “page 3” or in the case of Jaipurites  the revered( in our community) “Jaipur times” a.k.a “JT”, while some other might be busy filling Sudoku, while some other might be still enjoying the Archie or Garfield comic strips….but are content with the fact that “Hey atleast  I am reading the newspaper”. I too switched over to “The Hindu” lately, just to live up to the dream of getting into a resepected B-school. But all in vain. To make my morning a “Good Morning”, I still have to traverse to the neighbour’s room, just to have a look at the “JT”.

While this thing is on, you might have had this scene brought up at least once. One of your friends will come across a numerical figure followed by the dollar sign, and then “doing-calculation-in-the-air” kind of expression will turn up on his face for a few second. For a while the uno moto of his life becomes figuring out how much is that amount in rupees and to get a feel of how big or how small is the amount indeed. Well, after few minutes he’ll make a statement like “Microsoft’s total revenue is this much or that much, I just converted it into rupees” and eventually one of you will interrupt his mighty thought process then and there by saying “Oye the current conversion rate is this much, I just checked it, you must have calculated assuming it to be 50”. If there are many people around, then it's certain that a battle will initiate over the actual, decimal to decimal value of dollar till date, till a consensus is reached.  And so , the “ghissu” goes over the “calculation-in-the-air” once again.

Whatever might have induced the talk, but such talks terminate with our own movie review segment. Such scenes never go without our hurly burly talk over the latest movies and sensual heroines, and also which movie to go for this weekend, and the most important part being which movie not to go for.

Such are our “Newspaper Times”.

Bas aur kya chahiye

"Las Vegas" city ho,
“Ceaser’s Palace” casino ho,
Magar udaane ko paisa behisaab ho,
Bas aur kya chahiye

Beach side ka scene ho,
Chill bear can ho,
Magar char dost sath ho,
Bas aur kya chahiye

"Metallica" ka concert ho,
Gaana  “Master of Puppets” baj raha ho,
Magar ticket kharidne ki aukat ho,
Bas aur kya chahiye

"Audi" type ki gaadi ho
Destination pata na ho,
Magar petrol tank full ho,
Bas aur kya chahiye

Baarish ka mausam ho,
Pakode  garama garam ho,
Magar chai sath ho,
Bas aur kya chahiye

Apne to 4-5 Mbps ki speed aa rhi ho,
Magar dusro ka facebook bhi na khul rha ho,

Ye khwaishein puri hoti rahein,

Life As I See It

I am standing in the balcony alone, solitary……utilising my mind space….ruminating over things…observing people in the ambiance…admiring nature…staring at the blue sky…enjoying the cloudy trail of an aircraft which just left…dusk is approaching, the inevitable rendezvous of the day and the night…..this is my thing, idling, killing time…I call it recreating, reviving…this is the time when I often feel intimidated by the huge enigma this world is.

Have you ever given a thought to what this world actually is?. Why are you even living?. Well, I just did. You or me are just some guy who came into this world. You are gonna live fore few years, get related with lives of some people and then eventually gonna die. You may do anything while you are in this world…..anything……good or evil….that doesn’t matter, because one day you are gonna leave everything behind. No one except your close relatives even cared when you entered this world, although you can make many people care when you leave. But that doesn’t matter either, because you would be no more to see that. Those who believe in souls, incarnation and spiritual stuff may contradict with what I am trying to convey. They may say that the more good you do now will decide how you get to live in the next life, but who the heck knows if there’s life after death?, or more basic question: What happens after you die?. The Almighty may know the answer, if he exists.

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players, they have their exits and their entrances”, Shakespeare said it in the “As you like it”…….very true……..the whole world is a set up, you play your part and you leave, nothing beyond this simple concept.

Human life is a mystery. Some may fancy it is an eternal holiday, which we are voyaging day by day to reach the ultimate destination. We link good and bad experience with us as we go on. Those who accomplish their destination early, get to enjoy the holiday more. Although journey might be the best part, but this remains the view of people who get to their destination late.

Anyway…. this is what I believe. I would very much like to know what you think.

It's Sunday, the "Not Monday"

It’s the perfect Sunday morning.

Sunday, that comes after a Saturday and before a Monday. The trivial detail holds importance, Saturday being the most anticipated day of the week and Monday the most hated. You never want a Sunday to end, and of course you never want a Monday to even exist. But who the hell are you to question the inevitability of week cycle. In this context it would be no exaggerating to state the fact that Sunday’s got too much pressure on itself, cuz you know the  next day is the Monday. You gotta outlive the Sunday in order to be able to bear with the Monday. And in case you haven’t savored the Saturday, it’s all on the loyal shoulders of Sunday to give you the time of your week.

If you endeavor to look outta your window, you will find that the ambiance is almost perfect with slightest hint of Sun( nothing to do with Sunday). It’s the consummate conditions for one to just get out and ramble around Jaipur streets with his/her friends, after all it’s the friendship day.

True story, friendship day was initiated by Greeting Card companies, in order to originate new market. But eventually they suffered consumer resistance as they got insight into the commercial gimmick. Today, mobile phone companies and social networking sites relish this day the most. Let me put it this way, this has become the day on which if you don’t text, call or tag your friends in a photo you may be unfriended. So, here it is from me, to whoever reads this piece

“Happy Friendship Day” and a “Beautiful Sunday”
